We are approaching that time of year again when successful grads deserve our congratulations and festivities. But with so many graduation parties going on at the same time, how can you make your grad’s as special as they are? To me the obvious answer is with a dance show! And we have several shows perfect for backyards, around a pool and other less than ideal spaces.

First up is always belly dance, the tried and true favorite of crowds, honestly what isn’t there to love? You could gorgeous sparkly costumes, custom made for us by our couturiere in Istanbul, tons of props to choose from including led and fire options, graceful entrances with wings, daring sword balancing, energetic drum solos and of course getting the guests up to dance. Of course if you want to take you show to another level we can also add fire props and additional dancers. Our first of its kind fire headdresses, fire swords and fire palms all performed in group or solo shows. Bellydance is a perfect addition to any event and ideal for families of all ages.

Next is another favorite and perfect especially for the fun loving grad and that is a Samba show. Bring the joy and energy of carnival to your graduation party! Not just gorgeous feather headdresses and costumes, but we also offer a fully choreographed stage show to showcase the variation and energy of samba! We begin with our 2 tone led glowing wings for the entrance and do a non stop carnival show for you, right when you think it is over we get you and your guest into the act, teaching simple steps, dancing doing limbo and conga lines to get even the most reluctant up to dance!

Finally is the summer staple and great not just for graduation parties but any summer pool party or BBQ and that is our Polynesian show! With our modern fire props we add an edge to our traditional choreographies as we give you tour across the Polynesian Islands. Our show includes a grand entrance in full grass skirts and headdresses followed by traditional and modern Tahitian and Hula dances as well as an optional fire portion featuring fire eating, fire palms and fire poi. Halloween Party Ideas: Michael Jackson's Thriller, Haunted Belly Dancers, Masquerade Fire and More!

It is no secret that Halloween is our absolute favorite time of the year. I mean obviously right, we choose to dress up every year as dancers! But even with year long dressing up, Halloween is always a special time where we get to experiment with our darker side. Every year we look forward to bringing back old favorites, but also creating new shows for our clients. Over the years we have done everything from dark circuses and creepy tiki to masquerade and MJ’s Thriller. Excited to add a little spice to your Halloween party? Scroll down for a little trip down memory lane of some of our more memorable Halloween acts.

Being dancers, we have always loved Michael Jackson. His dance moves, his style, his music, he was legendary and still continues to influence music to this day. Last year, when we had been asked to do Thriller we were so excited! I had grown up doing it in my living room and we have done several revivals of the dance over the years combining Thriller with burlesque and bellydance but we never got to do the unadulterated version. My favorite part was getting to dress up like MJ in his iconic jacket and zombie makeup!

This one is by far a favorite and is usually done at least once every Halloween. Don’t let your friends know the surprise transformation! I love hearing the audience react to the unexpected change (though am always a little nervous I won’t pull it off!) My demon wings piece will darken any Halloween party and matches perfects with fire eating and sword dancing to complete the spooky freak show tour.

Halloween isn’t all darkness and scary costumes though! Sometimes we embrace our unique and bizarre side. Since Dawn and I are both classically trained ballerinas we can pull out the pointe shoes along with the feathers and fire to give you a haunted ballet or evil masquerade feel. Sexy and a little bit creepy we take you through a dark tour of the Belle Epoque with feather fans dances, fire headdresses a sinister ballet that will give your Halloween event a creepy elegance.

Summer Party Ideas Samba Dance Show South Florida

Though Carnival season is over, there is no reason not to continue the fun with samba dancers all summer long. With the bright costumes, elaborate feather headdresses and energetic music, samba just feels like summer. Summer Kids' Pool Party Ideas: Tropical Mermaids, Moana and Polynesian Dancers

With the kids off from school the monotony of summer can come hard and fast. In south Florida, even the pool can quickly lose its allure. But never fear! A pool party is the instant cure for the summertime blues and Sirens Dance Collective has the perfect party entertainment solutions to make your next kid's pool party a success!

Tropical Mermaids and Fire Mermaids

Bring the spirit of imagination alive for your kids with Tropical Mermaids and Fire Mermaids for evenings. With summer approaching it means a lot of things for us in south Florida. From beach days, to thunderstorm craft and movie days we all have something to look forward to with the longer days. Of course the most obvious perk of summer is school being done for the year and for some of us, forever! High school and College graduations are a special time and deserve a memorable party. Why not try adding some themed dancers for the event? Nothing livens up a party quite like some lively entertainment! Here are some of favorite summer time dances that will surely put a smile on your grad's face.

Bellydance

Of course it is my opinion that all occasions can be vastly improved with a belly dancer. Not only is the show fun and interactive, it is also the most cost effective of the three dances as a solo show is how the dance is intended, while Samba and Polynesian shows really need a small group of 2-4 dancers to make the show pop. Though belly dance can always be a group show, it is not a necessity. The show can begin any number of dramatic ways, from fire headdresses, veil, isis wings or our new LED glow isis wings followed by an elegant and thrilling show with sword balancing and optional fire dancing. 

After the performance the show isn't over though! Next up is getting your grad up to dance along with the rest of your party guests. This is a great segway into a night of dancing or we can finale the show with a drum solo and move on to the next scheduled events at the party.

Polynesian Luau Fire Show

With summer being so close, and for south florida, already here, a hula show is an instant no brainer. Bring the allure of the Polynesian Islands with our fun and modern show. Best with 2-4 dancers, we will bring all the excitement and mystique from your favorite Hawaiian resorts. Our show features hula and Tahitian dances as well as the modern addition of fire dance, perfect for a warm summer night. We enter with fire headdresses and follow up with fire palms, fire fans, fire poi and fire eating for the fire portions of the show. For the more traditional aspects we will dance the famous hula 'auana and Tahitian o'teas for you and your guests. 

This show also has the option for lots of fun party games. We can teach you the hukilau or how to fa'arapu or take on less challenging aspects like hula hoop contests, limbo and more. If there are youngsters in the crowd we even have a Moana impersonator to entertain them.

Samba Dance Show

Though carnival is over, it doesn't mean the samba has to stop! A favorite dance for South Florida and Miami, samba has become a year long mainstay for us. The bright costumes and large feather headdresses will make any event turn into a spectacle! Our samba shows are some of the best in south Florida because not only do we offer LED glow wings as part of the entrance, but we also offer fully choreographed stage shows, not just randomly dancing around the party. The excitement of our shows can be heightened with drummers and stilt walkers as well! Of course, after the show we will get the guests dancing and/or play party games like conga lines and limbo.

In our Polynesian show we focus mainly on Hawaiian and Tahitian dances with some fun, modern twists with fire dancing added in. Our shows feature an exciting Tahitian entrance, romantic hulas, exhilarating Tahitian o'teas and more. Our girls can also perform a variety of fire props including fire palms, fire eating, fire headdress, fire poi and fire fans. For a more traditional feel we also have a male fire knife dancer.

The show isn't just performance though, we get you and your guests involved as well! We will teach you basics hulas that you will catch on in no time! Dancing not your thing? Summer is here and with it, the long hot days and even longer rainy days. What's the use of living in Florida when we can't even get to the beach half the time with all this rain? But fear not, your summer doesn't have to be wasted in endless happy hours and movies, which are only fun for so long. Instead, shake up your routine with a dance class! Belly dance offers amazing health benefits for your body and mind. Increase your flexibility, improve strength and tone in the body and build self confidence and make new friends in the process! Keep away aging with mindfulness and memory boosting choreography and articulating all parts of your body. Unlike Zumba, you'll actually learn a REAL dance you can bust out at parties and clubs and unlike Crossfit you won't have to worry about injury or over emphasis of the upper body. Belly dance is gentle and effective as a work out and also an amazing and beautiful dance that is seeped in culture and tradition.

In beginner classes you will learn the basic steps and movements as well as exercises to prepare for more complex moves and layers. In intermediate classes, you will take these a step further, learning more complicated combos and begin to layer your moves, creating an amazing effect. Optional as well, you can start learning props such as balancing a sword, finger cymbals, veil and more in the choreography and prop class. With this class you will be eligible to perform in student showcases, charity events and when the time comes even paid performances. All while learning this new dance, you will learn about the beautiful cultures bellydance hails from, and build a community of other strong, like minded people.

Sirens Halloween Photoshoot

Halloween is always my favorite holiday, and while dressing up is something I get to do almost every day of the year, I still have not faltered in my love of the holiday. This year, Sirens decided to do something different and do a Halloween themed photoshoot. The photoshoot was done by the incredibly talented Keith Jordan Photography with costume design and theme by myself, costume construction by the incredibly talented Bella Costumes 

 Things have taken a dark turn for Cinderella as after the clock strikes twelve. Not only do all her curios change back, but they change into something horrible. The mice are no longer her friends and helpers but animated skeletons bent on revenge, her carriage, a rotting pumpkin. What will happen to her when it's her turn to change?

Party Ideas for South Florida: Diwali Bollywood Dancer Shows

As the nights get longer we are reminded about the Divine Light within all living things. Regardless of religion, autumn represents a time of quiet reflection before the festival of lights for many of the major world religions commences. In this special time we can take time to reflect and clean our lives of physical and spiritual negativity and dirt. With cleansing the light can only shine brighter. During this season comes the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali. In this five day holiday each night is dedicated to a specific theme. Day 1 cleansing of businesses and homes, day 2 celebrating the victory of good over evil, light over dark, day 3 the main event when everyone wears their new clothes and pujas are offered to Lakshmi, day 4 to celebrate the love between man and wife and day 5 to celebrate the love between friends and siblings. 

During these nights, parties and celebration are on going with music and dancing. Brighten your Diwali celebrations or cultural awareness days at your office or university with a fun and energetic Bollywood performance. We can supply dancers in groups of 1-4 performing beautiful and fun choreography together.

Halloween & Day of the Dead Party Ideas

So perhaps in South Florida we don't get so much seasonal change, but we can still feel the shift. Longer nights, overcast days, rain and thunder, yes it's still 80 degrees and 75% humidity but our fall/ hurricane season is upon us. And even if Mother Nature doesn't give us chill we can make it ourselves with some good old fashioned parties! 

Can I say, I absolutely love this time of year. Even dressing up in costume almost every day of the year doesn't dampen my love for Halloween, Day of the Dead and all things macabre. Because of my love of Halloween I offer variations on the regular Belly Dance and Fire Dance entertainment to be specifically Halloween themed. I bet you didn't even know you could get a Halloween Themed Belly Dance show? As for fire, it just lends itself to the dark and eerie already, so all fire dance needs is a dress up with some creative costuming (always fire safe and within fire liability insurance guidelines) and music and a beautiful dark show! 

But as much as I love Halloween, I unfortunately can not be everywhere at once and spaces are filling up! We already will be doing a fun flapper show at Vizcaya's Sundowner 2016, but there are plenty of spots left so don't delay and call or email for your very own Halloween Dance Show!
