Pool Party Ideas: Summer Luau and Tiki Shows, Polynesian Entertainment

With the temperature rising, it is just a natural to make your next party by the pool or in the backyard. What better way to stay cool and enjoy South Florida's tropical weather? But just the pool and friends, while great, can feel a little lacking and monotonous after a while, so what better way to add some excitement to your backyard parties than to throw in some Polynesian Entertainment? Sirens Dance Collective offers family friendly Polynesian shows to make your next pool party an instant luau! 

What is Polynesian dance anyways? Polynesian, literally many islands, is the term used to explain the archipelago south of Australia stretching towards Southeast Asia. This includes Hawaii and Tahiti as well as Tonga, Maori and several other cultures as well. Each area has dances unique to their island and culture. In our Polynesian show we focus mainly on Hawaiian and Tahitian dances with some fun, modern twists with fire dancing added in. Our shows feature an exciting Tahitian entrance, romantic hulas, exhilarating Tahitian o'teas and more. Our girls can also perform a variety of fire props including fire palms, fire eating, fire headdress, fire poi and fire fans. For a more traditional feel we also have a male fire knife dancer.

The show isn't just performance though, we get you and your guests involved as well! We will teach you basics hulas that you will catch on in no time! Dancing not your thing? We can also host a variety of party games such as limbo, conga lines, hula hoop contests and anything else you can think of! 

Kids aren't neglected either! Besides the whole show being entertaining for the whole family, we also have the option of adding a special visit from Moana to any party. Moana can hang out with kids, host games, teach them dances or even dance with the troupe! We also have Tiki Mermaids who can swim or perform with fire who will delight children and adults alike!

Party Ideas: Summer Wedding Reception Entertainment and Dancers

With summer on its way we have been getting a lot of requests for dancers for weddings and receptions. June bride's maybe full of tradition but that doesn't mean the reception has to be stuffy and boring! Take advantage of south Florida's beautiful spring and early summer weather and have your guests go outside for graceful mermaids and LED bubble dancers or exhilarating fire shows! While our mermaids and bubble dancers will provide a beautiful ambiance as well as selfie opportunities, the fire shows, available in a variety of themes, will command attention and create a showstopping experience your guests will never forget

Indoor receptions also have tons of opportunities for fun and exciting shows be it the Eastern flavors of belly dance and Bollywood dance or the more Latin flair of Samba and Tropicana shows. In our famous belly dance shows we offer solo or group performance with indoor appropriate fire props or LED to light up the night. Or for more classic style we can perform with veil or wings. Our Bollywood shows are high energy and expertly choreographed giving your guests a full theatrical feel. We keep the energy going by grabbing guests up to dance in all our dance shows, getting the night started quickly. 

For a more Latin feel we offer classic Hora Loca style entertainment with samba dancers, stilt walkers and drummers as well as more theatrical Samba and Copacabana shows. Costumes have a range for conservative or traditional. Shows are full choreographed and exciting with up to four dancers available.

Halloween & Day of the Dead Party Ideas

So perhaps in South Florida we don't get so much seasonal change, but we can still feel the shift. Longer nights, overcast days, rain and thunder, yes it's still 80 degrees and 75% humidity but our fall/ hurricane season is upon us. And even if Mother Nature doesn't give us chill we can make it ourselves with some good old fashioned parties! 

Can I say, I absolutely love this time of year. Even dressing up in costume almost every day of the year doesn't dampen my love for Halloween, Day of the Dead and all things macabre. Because of my love of Halloween I offer variations on the regular Belly Dance and Fire Dance entertainment to be specifically Halloween themed. I bet you didn't even know you could get a Halloween Themed Belly Dance show? As for fire, it just lends itself to the dark and eerie already, so all fire dance needs is a dress up with some creative costuming (always fire safe and within fire liability insurance guidelines) and music and a beautiful dark show! 

But as much as I love Halloween, I unfortunately can not be everywhere at once and spaces are filling up! We already will be doing a fun flapper show at Vizcaya's Sundowner 2016, but there are plenty of spots left so don't delay and call or email for your very own Halloween Dance Show!

Summer is Here: Book your Tiki Luau Dancers

Memorial Day has passed and the unofficial start of Summer is here! That means longs days, pool parties, BBQs and of course Luaus! And what luau isn't complete without a Polynesian Show? Our Tiki Show includes fast and exciting Tahitian drums, slow and elegant hulas and fun crowd pleasing classics like "Hukilau" and "Little Grass Shack" as well as poi and fire props. The show is family friendly and we can provide fire liability insurance and sound equipment.
